Ended: NCAUG Scholarships

The North Carolina Arc Users Group (NCAUG) is pleased to announce the 7th annual, 2014 NCAUG Student Scholarship Award applications. The scholarships are intended to support full-time students enrolled in GIS-related courses/activities in an accredited North Carolina Community College or University with an emphasis in GIS. Applicants must be enrolled, full-time, during the 2014/2015 academic year in order to be eligible. Previous NCAUG Scholarship Award recipients are not eligible to apply. This year, there are two categories, Undergraduate (including Community College) and Graduate, in which two $500 awards will be made to each category, for a total of four awards. The recipients will also receive a discount to the 2014 NCAUG Fall Conference and will be strongly encouraged to give a presentation.

Applications are due by May 15, 2014. The NCAUG Scholarship Committee will review the applicants and recipients will be notified by May 30, 2014.

Review Criteria

Each applicant will submit an essay of no longer than two, double-spaced pages. This should be typed and submitted either as a word or .pdf document. The student’s last name must be included in the file name. The essay should include:

· Your history with GIS, how you were introduced to it
· Your experiences with GIS
· How this scholarship will support your GIS-related activities or research
· Future career goals and how they relate to GIS

Complete (please type) the following application. Once you have completed the application and essay, please submit both electronically to kmoore -@- harnett.org. (REQUIRED)
