Posted: April 19, 2011 in Uncategorized

The Southern Coalition for Social Justice is seeking to hire a GIS
analyst or cartographer for a summer position with the organization.
This person will assist in redistricting efforts by being a political
cartographer — working with community organizations to draw new county
commission, city council and school board electoral district maps. The
cartographer will be working primarily in North Carolina, but may be
called upon to assist community groups in other states. The
cartographer should have familiarity with ArcGIS, and should be able to
learn the Maptitude redistricting software quickly. The duration of the
position would be from May 2011 through August 2011. Pay will be
competitive and commensurate with experience.

Interested applicants should contact Allison Riggs
(allison@southerncoalition.org) and Tim Stallmann (tim@scsj.org). Please
submit a CV if possible.
